According to research, the childhood years are crucial for personality development and play a significant role in the physical and mental well-being of a child. This period serves as the foundation for lifelong development. To ensure a fulfilling childhood, play, especially sports, is essential.
Furthermore, the right for children to play and engage in physical activities is a fundamental right that needs to be respected and protected. Through sports and recreational activities, children learn teamwork, communication skills, creativity, and gain confidence. They also develop patience and learn to cope with failures, simulating real-life situations.
“Health and nutritional deficiencies also cause 1.9 million children under the age of five to be stunted, leaving permanent physical and brain damage.” - UNICEF.
Do all children have the opportunity to enjoy play and sports?
Sports have an inherent appeal to all children, including those facing the most difficult circumstances. Despite their challenges, children yearn for the joy and experiences of childhood. Unfortunately, not all children are guaranteed the right to play, especially in sports. This is particularly true for children facing financial constraints, lack of infrastructure, or a lack of awareness about the benefits of participating in sports. Therefore, society and organizations must ensure that all children have access to and can participate in sports activities.
NhiLe Team and NhiLe Foundation recognize this issue and organize the “99 Days” initiative to help everyone, especially children, develop the habit of physical exercise and foster self-discipline and initiative. This program is not limited to NhiLe Team members but also encourages everyone, especially privileged childreEnsuring the right of children to play, particularly in sports, is crucial. It is the collective responsibility of all of us, not just the NhiLe Foundation, to ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate in sports activities to promote their health, skills, and essential qualities for personal growth. Let us join hands with NhiLe Foundation in building a bright future for all children through community projects and creating an environment where every child has the right to play and express themselves through sports.
